Is it just me, or of the various classes of OS zealots, are Windows zealots the most overly hostile towards the users of other OSes? (especially Mac users) Linux and Mac users tend to be zealous, but they usually stick to bashing Windows itself, not being dicks to people for using Windows. (IE is another matter; that fucking browser breaks the web, and needs to be stopped.) You get the assholes in any of these groups, but I rarely run into Windows zealots who _don't_ act hostile towards me for being a mac user.

Then again, perhaps it's a numbers thing. We don't act hostile towards Windows users because there's so damn many of them, we'd be alienating far too many people.

Eh...people will find anything about which to get up in arms. "You're different from me, so therefore I'm better than you." It's an archaic, foolish mentality that spans over anything and everything, from religion and cultural traditions to what brand of cereal one eats. I'm half-surprised we still hold onto such a mentality today. People just need to learn first what is really important enough in life over which to get upset, and second to separate the messenger from the message, and learn to dislike ideas or actions instead of other people.

I've actually had quite a few Mac users be assholes to me, completely. I've also had Windows OS users be jerks. I've not seen an innocent group yet.

Yeah. Wasn't meaning to imply there is an innocent group, just noting that from my experience it's a lot more prevalent coming from Windows zealots. Outright antagonism, mind you, not just coming off as an arrogant douche, as all zealots do that. :P I mean full on "I hate you because you use [OS]" and being a full-on asshole.
